BTC Dominance Hits 56% and Alts Are Getting Absolutely Wrecked โ The Squeeze Is Just Starting
Bitcoin dominance just punched through 56.1% and if you're still holding a bag of mid-cap alts, I'm genuinely sorry for your portfolio.
The Numbers Don't Lie
BTC is sitting at $65,016 after a clean +3.0% daily move. Meanwhile the total crypto market cap is $2.32T โ and Bitcoin is eating more than half of it. ETH managed +3.7% to $1,892 but that's still pathetically below $2K. SOL popped +7% to $82 but let's be real โ it was at $260 not long ago.
Alts Are Getting the Life Squeezed Out
Look at this carnage: ARB at $0.09, OP at $0.12, TIA at $0.31. These are tokens that launched with billion-dollar valuations. INJ is the only one actually red today at -1.0% and that's somehow the most honest price action in the market.
ADA at $0.27. LINK at $8.47. AVAX at $8.57. These aren't "buying opportunities" โ these are assets that lost 80-90% of their ATH value while BTC dominance just keeps climbing.
Fear Index at 11 โ Extreme Fear
The Fear & Greed Index is at 11 โ Extreme Fear. But here's the thing: Bitcoin isn't scared. It's up 3% today while the rest of the market bleeds out. This is classic dominance expansion โ capital is rotating OUT of alts and INTO BTC as a flight to safety within crypto.
What Happens Next
BTC dominance above 56% with this level of fear historically means one thing: alts haven't bottomed yet. The squeeze continues until alt holders capitulate completely. We're not there yet โ you can tell because people are still posting "generational buying opportunities" on CT.
When those posts turn to "crypto is dead" โ that's your signal. Until then, BTC dominance keeps grinding higher.
